'Limiting eating to 8 hours zaps fat'

FASTING earlier or later in the day for three months could be an effective strategy for long-term weight loss.

In a study, obese or overweight people who only ate during an eight-hour window each day shed more pounds and tended to keep them off over the next year.

Dr Alba Camacho-Cardenosa, from Spain’s University of Granada, noted the eight hours could fall at any time during a 24-hour period - as the “benefits can be attributed to the 16-hour fasting window rather than the time of eating”.
