Keir and Trump to focus on end to Gaza horror

ENDING the “unspeakable suffering” in Gaza will be on the agenda when Sir Keir Starmer sits down with Donald Trump in Scotland tomorrow.

The Prime Minister will travel to the US President’s Turnberry golf course in South Ayrshire to discuss how to stop starvation and free the Israeli hostages held in the war-torn territory.

His visit comes as pressure mounts on Sir Keir to follow France’s lead and recognise a Palestinian state. More than a third of MPs across nine parties have urged him to take this historic step.

The two leaders will hold talks across a wide range of issues, including on boosting trade links and the war in Ukraine ahead of Mr Trump’s State visit in September.

A source said: “The Prime Minister is expected to welcome the President’s administration working with partners in Qatar and Egypt to bring about a ceasefire in Gaza.
