LIVERPOOL HAMMER BLOW FOR REDS AFTER BOWEN BREAKTHROUGH
JARROD BOWEN, a long-time favourite of Jurgen Klopp, conspired to put the knife into the Liverpool manager’s already-faint title dream.
The England ace (below, bottom) scored West Ham’s opener and created Michail Antonio’s late equaliser to all but kill the visitors’ chances of finishing Klopp’s era as English champions a second time.
Andy Robertson scored to raise the Reds’ hopes amid an early second-half fightback.
As it is, though, this sixth winless outing in 10 leaves them stuck two points adrift of leaders Arsenal and one behind Manchester City, who both have games in hand.
A dejected Klopp said: “I said before we needed to win our games so this draw doesn’t improve our situation.
“We deserved to win but football is not like that.
“We have 75 points and can get 84. But it’s been a while since someone wins the title with that total.”
