SIR Paul McCartney has revealed he never believed the Beatles would split in 1970, despite clashes between bandmates over their music and money.
The music legend, 83, felt John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr would reunite despite growing apart while making Abbey Road, which turned out to be their last joint album.
Sir Paul said he was surprised longtime friend John saw his life with partner Yoko Ono heading in "another direction".
