Calocane killings: Victims' families to meet Sir Keir

THE families of the Nottingham attacker's victims will meet the Prime Minister this week to push for a judge-led statutory inquiry "with teeth" into the killings.

Valdo Calocane killed students Barnaby Webber and Grace O'Malley-Kumar, both 19, and caretaker Ian Coates, 65, and attempted to kill three others in June 2023.

A report released last week set out in detail the contact he had with mental health services and highlighted failings in his care.

Mr Webber's mother Emma said she hopes all those implicated in shortcomings with his treatment and supervision are "finally made to tell the truth" as soon as possible.

Radd Seiger, adviser to the families, said they will meet Sir Keir Starmer at Downing Street on Wednesday to discuss the next steps. No10 said Sir Keir is committed to a judge-led inquiry and has not ruled out a public inquiry with full statutory powers.
