Gunners' new transfer guru's bagged a beast

ANDREA BERTA has worked around the clock to secure new signings for Mikel Arteta since joining Arsenal in March.

His immediate influence on dealings was evidenced by the £63.7million statement capture of Viktor Gyokeres, who scored and shone in a 3-0 win against Athletic Bilbao yesterday.

Berta made a big push for the Swede, who is poised to lead the line at Old Trafford in next Sunday’s opener.

There has been progress on a raft of new contracts but focus will now switch to outgoings.

This is where Italian chief Berta’s expertise will really impact.The Gunners have only generated £8.57m through sales after flogging Nuno Tavares and Marquinhos.
