Two men arrested in anti-terror probe released

TWO men arrested in Stockport and Rochdale as part of a anti-terror probe have been released from custody.

The pair were among five men, all Iranian nationals, who were arrested as part of a pre-planned operation on May 3 on suspicion of the preparation of a terrorist act, contrary to section 5 of the Terrorism Act, police said.
Armed officers carried out the arrests in East Street, Rochdale, where a 40-year-old man was held, and on Heathbank Road in Cheadle Hulme, where a 29-year-old man was arrested.
A 24-year-old man was also arrested in Manchester, while a 29-year-old arrested in Swindon, Wiltshire, and a 46-year-old arrested in west London.
