Hatters swoop for Edun after Posh departure

STOCKPORT County have agreed terms for the signing of left-back Tayo Edun on a free transfer, following the expiration of his contract at Peterborough United.

The versatile 27-year-old will join the Club on a two-year deal with the option of an additional year, having enjoyed a strong second half of the season with the Posh after signing from Charlton Athletic in January.

He made 17 appearances for Darren Ferguson's side in League One, contributing with two goals and two assists, and turned down a new deal there in order to move to Edgeley Park.

Capable of playing in a variety of positions but most comfortable at left-back, Tayo began his career at Fulham. He made his professional debut for the Cottagers at the age of 18, starting a Carabao Cup tie against Leyton Orient.

Tayo made seven appearances during his time at Craven Cottage before enjoying a loan spell at Championship side, Ipswich Town - scoring on his debut for the Tractor Boys in a 2-2 draw with his future side, Blackburn Rovers.
