Hatters farewell to terrace favourite Tanto

STRIKER Tanto Olaofe has departed Stockport County after completing a move to Championship club Charlton Athletic for a 'substantial' undisclosed fee.

The fee received for Olaofe's transfer is just short of the club's all-time record for a player sale Alun Armstrong's £1.6m move to Middlesbrough in 1998 and represents a significant profit on a player who joined from Millwall back in January 2023.
During his time at Edgeley Park, 25-year-old Olaofe developed into a real fan favourite. His power and pace made him a nightmare for any defender he came up against, and he departs having scored 37 goals in 121 appearances for the Club.
21 of those goals came during the 2023/24 season as County claimed the League Two title, with Olaofe finishing as top scorer in the league that year ahead of the likes of Louie Barry, Kyle Wootton and Paddy Madden.
