Teams picked for next year's event in Milan Cortina

Stirling curlers set for Winter Olympics

A pair of Stirling-based squads have been named as the first official representatives of Team GB at next year’s Milan Cortina Winter Olympics.

The ten-strong curling team includes two five-person teams who will compete in the men’s and women’s events respectively - while one each from those two squads will also compete in a strong mixed doubles pairing.

On the men's side, it will be a chance for the world’s number one ranked team, Team Mouat, to finally secure the last medal missing from their collection - the Olympic gold.

The team will be confident going into the Games after a dominant season which saw them win a second World Championship title and become the first-ever rink to win four Grand Slam titles in a single season.

Mouat and his fellow Olympic silver medallists Grant Hardie, Bobby Lammie and Hammy McMillan are joined by PyeongChang 2018 Olympian Kyle Waddell as alternate, completing the experienced line up.
