SNP must get back to 'day job' for public
Stirling Observer
|April 23, 2025
We may still have just over a year to go until the next Scottish Elections; however, it seems that fatigue is already setting in for the SNP Scottish Government.
John Swinney recently revealed he will set out his government's plans for the next year at the start of May around four months earlier than expected.
He claims this is because the Scottish Government as he says wants to be 'laser-focused' on delivering for Scotland in their final year in office.
In reality, the truth is that it isn't just fatigue that is setting in for this SNP Government - but desperation too.
This government already has an 18-year legacy of slow growth, declining public services, and repeated scandals.
One year of 'laser focus' won't change this.
Despite the litany of failures his government has presided over, we recently learnt that John Swinney is rewarding his Ministers with a near-£20,000 pay rise.
