Children at a Stirling nursery will have better protection from the elements during woodland adventures.

Stirling Council planners have conditionally approved an application by Cambusbarron Village Nursery for a structure on land south east of Polmaise Castle Estate’s walled garden off Polmaise Road.

The timber building is to act as a shelter base in support of the existing woodland nursery sessions.

The nursery children are dropped off and picked up at the community centre in the village and on ‘wood days’ the staff safely walk them through the village into the woodland.

The nursery has access to a small storage shed in the walled garden, which contains hygiene equipment and some play and learning resources (tarpaulins, ropes, paper, pencils etc). The service also has access to a composting toilet within the walled garden.
