An 87-year-old greatgrandmother has embarked on a 30-mile cycling mission to highlight a Scottish charity which helps feed starving youngsters in some of the world's most impoverished regions.

- CHRIS MARZELLA

Age proved no obstacle for Ellison Hudson, from Bridge of Allan, who has accomplished the remarkable 30-mile tricycle feat in aid of international school feeding charity, Mary's Meals.

It represents the third challenge Ellison has undertaken for the organisation, having previously completed rides in 2018 and 2022.

This year, the determined great grandmother was keen to maintain her impressive record by conquering an amazing 30 miles across three days around Stirling University's racetrack, all to highlight the plight of hungry youngsters.

Ellison's dedication to Mary's Meals started following a trip to Malawi where she saw firsthand the transformative effect the charity's efforts has on children.

She said: "When I saw the effect that a daily school meal had on the children in Malawi, I just knew I had to do something to help Mary's Meals reach more children. Over the years, I've challenged myself to keep going further and to play my part in helping the mission grow.
