Camp site plan gets go ahead

Retrospective permission has been granted to turn land in Blanefield into a camping and motorhome site.

Conditional approval has been granted by Stirling Council planners to Sir Archibald Edmonstone for a change of use of the site at Ardoch House.

Strathblane Community Council had considered a camp site at the location to be acceptable in principle.

However, while not objecting, they raised a number of concerns including safe spacing between sites, provision of infrastructure supporting the operations (including waste, drainage, fire safety, noise and light pollution).

The proposals included hardstanding for parking, motor homes and tented camping (28 parking spaces, three of which are accessible) and siting of two staff caravans and a bike shelter (for up to 12 bikes).
