PHDCCI delegation meets Municipal Commissioner to discuss draft city logistics plan

A delegation of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jammu Region Chapter (PHDCCIJRC), comprising of its Chairman Rakesh Wazir, Former Chairman Vikrant Kothiala, and Deputy Resident Director Kartik Pratap Singh, while speaking and elaborating in the meeting convened by Municipal Commissioner Jammu, Devansh Yadav, wherein other officer including Addl. District Development Commissioner, Jammu Sher Singh, Project Director National Highway Authority of India Anuj Kumar, Joint Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jammu Sudha Sharma and others were also present, to deliberate on the Draft City Logistics Plan and propose actionable measures to ease congestion in the city discussed in detail the measures to ease ease out the traffic in Jammu.

Rakesh Wazir while speaking on the occasion emphasized the need for vertical development i.e. multi story buildings over horizontal sprawl to safeguard green spaces besides usage of one place's FAR in other place and advocated for a long-term, planned approach to city growth-on the lines of Chandigarh-anticipating Jammu's needs for the next 40 years. He also highlighted the urgency of more roads and the timely completion of ring roads to effectively decongest traffic.
