Rain hampers Milford Hall as winning streak is broken at Beacon
Staffordshire Newsletter
|June 11, 2025
RAIN was a key factor as Milford Hall 1sts’ winning streak came to an end on Saturday but they were still able to gain enough points to reduce the lead of top team Hammerwich to four points.
Their game at third-placed Beacon was deemed abandoned after Milford only had the opportunity to bat 14 overs, but in the time allocated, they made a gallant attempt to chase down Beacon’s 137-6.
Dan Green held the Beacon innings together with an unbeaten 62 after his side had slipped to 47-5.
Milford’s Clark Haddrell did the early damage with a wicket and a run out before Will Davis and Aaron Afford both picked up a couple of wickets.
Sahal Malvernkar led Milford’s challenge with 51 from just 23 balls but, ultimately, the task proved too great as his side closed on 119-6.
The 2nds lost at home to Brewood 1sts.
