Newlands singer, Gabe Liddle is making waves on this foreign music market and has now released his first music single, Island, last month.

- WESLEY FORD OWN CORRESPONDENT

Liddle, 21, is in Savona, Italy, currently working on his first album, Island which is on schedule to be released in September.

"The project is deeply personal, built around real experiences and the journey of growth I've gone through since leaving home and having the chance to travel. The album will feature eight tracks, each reflecting a different moment or emotion along that path," he says.

Liddle has always been interested in following music as his passion. He was part of the choir from junior to high school and he went to the South African College Schools (SACS) where he was part of their music program.

"Singing became something I couldn't go a day without and that passion is what led me to take music to the next level," he said.
