Coimbatore: Kumaraguru Institutions Launches YALI 4.0 - India's Pioneering Fully Sustainable Energy Boat for Monaco Energy Boat Challenge (MEBC) 2025 Kumaraguru Institutions is launching YALI 4.0, the latest version of India's pioneering student-built energy boat, on Thursday (04 June 2025), marking a significant leap in sustainable marine innovation.

Designed and developed by Team Sea Sakthi (TSS), an interdisciplinary student team from Kumaraguru, YALI 4.0 is set to represent India once again at the prestigious Monaco Energy Boat Challenge (MEBC) for the fourth consecutive year. TSS will take part in MEBC which is scheduled between 02-05 July 2025 at Monaco. Since debuting in 2022 with YALI 1.0, the journey of Team Sea Sakthi has been transformative over the years. From an aluminium-framed electric catamaran to a sleek, fully sustainable vessel made of natural biomaterials, each version of YALI has reflected a powerful evolution in engineering, material science, and ecological design. YALI 1.0, launched in 2022, was India's first entry to the MEBC. A 310 kg electric catamaran powered by a 6 kW Torgeedo motor and solar-assisted lithium iron phosphate batteries, it prioritized reliability and foundational design. Team Sea Sakthi won the Communication Prize at MEBC 2022, recognizing the team's compelling vision for India's clean marine future.
