Special day to mark 'century of local history and service' at war memorial hospital

THE 100th anniversary of the Clydach War Memorial Hospital is being celebrated next month.

Charity Alabare, which supports veterans who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness in areas including South Wales, is hosting a family fun day.
The free event will include music, entertainment, food, drink, and activities for all ages. There will also be woodworking workshops and art displays, while younger visitors can enjoy a treasure hunt and a bouncy castle.
It's all part of Alabare’s commitment to the local community, marking a century of the hospital's legacy, and a chance to find out more about the charity's work with veterans.
The hospital was founded in 1925, initially providing care to those who'd suffered injuries while working in the mining industry.
