FOR generations, Castle Square has occupied a prominent position in Swansea city centre.

Images of the proposed development were released in September last year.

(SWANSEA COUNCIL)

Situated at the meeting point of High Street and Wind Street, it has acted as both a gathering space and a thoroughfare linking key parts of the city.

From the square, Wind Street leads toward the city's bars and pubs, Oxford Street provides access to the main shopping area, and High Street connects to Swansea railway station and the wider transport network. Once home to formal gardens, the square has long been a focal point for movement through the city.
