Robber 'waved blade at victim'

Swansea Crown Court heard Davies has previous convictions for violence and public disorder including one incident when he attacked five police officers by kicking and punching them, spitting blood in the face of one and telling him he hoped he caught Covid, and grabbing a policewoman's breast and twisting it.

Brian Simpson, prosecuting, told the court that the robbery happened on August 19 this year while the complainant was attending a storage yard and lockup near Bryntirion Terrace in Llanelli.

He said as the complainant walked back to his nearby car to retrieve an item he saw a man - later identified as the defendant sitting on a bicycle next to the driver's door of the vehicle.

The court heard the victim then realised the door to his car was ajar, and the cyclist was carrying bags and wearing a backpack which had been inside the vehicle.

The prosecutor said the victim shouted at 25-year-old Davies to give his possessions back but the defendant tried to ride off. The car owner managed to grab the handlebars of the bike to stop the escape, and then pulled the defendant to the floor.

The barrister said a "scuffle" broke out between the two men during which Davies tried to punch the victim before producing a multi-tool from his pocket.
