ELIS Price’s touchline conversion to wing Tom Williams’ try deep into added time snatched a stunning win for Carmarthen Quins over champions Newport in a dramatic finish.

PRICE RIGHT ON CUE TO STUN CHAMPS

Elis Price was the last-gasp hero for Carmarthen Quins

Just moments earlier, Newport wing Iestyn Galton scored a fourth and what had looked like match-winning try to complete a memorable comeback for the Black and Ambers, having fought back from 14-0 and 21-7 down to lead.

However, this defeat for Ty Morris’ side - their fifth out of five - leaves them still winless and rooted to the bottom of the Super Rygbi Cymru table.

For the Quins, this was their third win from five, while they let slip winning positions in the two games they have lost narrowly at Bridgend and Pontypool.

“It was our turn today and we worked really hard to get there,” said Quins director of rugby Steff Thomas.

“We've had two arm wrestles and come out on the wrong side, so we were determined that we needed to be on the right side of one.
