Popular restaurant that has a (very) relaxed atmosphere!

IN MOST towns, especially in a post-Covid world, it’s not uncommon to see new restaurants pop up and strive to make a dent in a competitive and crowded market, trying to offer hungry customers something new, exciting and different in a bid to become successful.
This is no different in Carmarthen, which has a range of nice eateries offering different types of cuisine both in the town centre and in its neighbouring villages. But to stand out you have to offer either something delicious or something a bit different, and one relatively new spot has managed to provide both.
Jasmine Thai Takeaway & Restaurant, located in the town’s Water Street, has only been open since the spring of last year. It started as a Thai takeaway in February 2024, then opened as a restaurant two months later.
Another two months went by and it opened a Thai massage studio within the same premises, meaning you can get pampered and enjoy delicious food all under the same roof.
Despite still being in its infancy as a restaurant, Jasmine has received glowing reviews across the board from diners.
It currently has a 4.9 rating out of 5 on Tripadvisor, with an incredible 94% of customers describing it as ‘excellent! One reviewer recently wrote: “Discovered this gem of a restaurant last weekend. Wow! We will definitely be returning. One of the best Thai curries I've ever eaten.”
Another said: “Beautiful interior and ambience; excellent welcome and service. Food was absolutely amazing, plenty of choice for all dietary requirements. Highly recommended - can’t wait to go again.”
High praise indeed, and the huge success is down to owner and manager Robbie Done and his wife Jasmine, a qualified massage therapist.
As recently as 2022, Robbie, from Pendine, worked for a building firm selling houses.
