Officers line the road as young PC is laid to rest

HUNDREDS of mourners gathered yesterday for the funeral of a young police constable who died after he vanished on a night out with friends in Bristol at the weekend.

Rehaan Akhtar, 28, had been serving for South Wales Police at the time of his tragic death.

Police officers, friends, and family members gathered at Swansea Mosque and Islamic Centre for Janazah Prayer before travelling to Llanelli District Cemetery for the interment where the Imam offered final prayers.

Mourners gathered at the cemetery in moving scenes to pay tribute to the “greatly respected” police constable.
