Notices served on businesses over fires

FOR a number of weeks Swansea Council had been receiving complaints about fires in the Llansamlet area of the city.

Determined to find out the cause, it pulled together a team to get to the bottom of it.

And that team has now come good and uncovered the culprits. Normally teenagers get blamed for these types of incidents, but in these instances, someone else was responsible and they've now faced action to stop them.

A statement from Swansea Council read: “In recent weeks, the council has been receiving calls about fires taking place in the Llansamlet area.

“Following these reports, a multi-agency investigation, involving Swansea Council, South Wales Police, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service and Natural Resources Wales has been underway to identify those responsible for the fires.
