Little home comfort for Rovers as Galaxy extend their title lead
South Wales Evening Post
|November 26, 2025
MURTON Rovers' hopes of a high finish in the Swansea Senior League Premier Division were dealt a fresh blow as Port Tennant Colts inflicted their fourth home defeat of the season.
-
Callum Hook opened the scoring in the 17th minute after being played in Aiden Chappell Smith.
Chappell Smith was then on target when he converted from the penalty spot in the 25th minute, but Colts' 2-0 lead lasted only eight minutes, Matty Rees getting his fifth goal in three matches.
Rovers drew level just after the break thanks to another goal from Curtis Mildenhall.
In the 80th minute Ashton Lloyd played in Hook to give Port Tennant Colts a slender 3-2 lead and four minutes later, Lloyd was the creator again when he played in Chappell Smith for his second goal of the match to seal a 4-2 win and move Colts into third spot.
Plough Colts made it three league games unbeaten as they shared an eight-goal thriller with Treboeth United. Colts' task was made easier when Craig Hicks was sent off for the visitors in the 22nd minute.
Despite going down to 10 men so early in the match, Corey Brain scored a pair of goals to give the visitors a 2-0 lead inside half an hour.
Joshua Edwards pulled a goal back for Plough in the 33rd minute before Plough fell further behind in the 60th minute as Dan Lock converted from the penalty spot to make it 3-1.
There seemed no way back for Colts when Brain made it 4-1 in the 64th minute to complete his hat trick.
