Lewis makes most of home comforts

LEWIS Jones made the most of home comforts as he provided a star turn at Pembrey.

The Ammanford motorcycle racer competed in the third round of the NG Road Racing series at the circuit outside Llanelli.

Saturday began with qualifying and conditions were tricky, with rain sweeping in for both of the sessions that decided grids for the later races.

Jones was contesting the IMS national 600 and the Prince of Pembrey Phoenix open events.

Riding his Triumph, he secured sixth position for the IMS 600 race, and a 14th grid spot.

The weather improved for the first race, and with track conditions better Jones pushed hard, going on to win the race with a best lap time of 59.398 seconds which was the fastest time.

It meant that he also held pole postion for Sunday's second IMS race.
