Home comforts pay off for Osian

PROMISING jockey Osian Radford must love his trips home.

The up-and-coming rider grew up just a few minutes’ walk from Ffos Las, and as such probably knows the course better than most.

And he made that local knowledge count when steering Puddlesinthepark to a wide-margin victory in the staying handicap chase as the Carmarthenshire track staged its first jumps meeting of the autumn last week.

Puddlesinthepark was sent off the 15-2 outsider of three, but won eased down to record his fourth win since April.

It was the second time this season the combination had won at Ffos Las as they were following up a course success in June.

Winning trainer Evan Williams - the leading trainer at the course - said: “He won by a short-head last time, a bit further this time.

“He'll appreciate plenty of cut and I think going up in trip is a huge help.”
