Devastating diagnosis for nurse after bout of dizziness

A POPULAR nurse who loved clothes, coffee, and holidays died after discovering she had a brain tumour when she suffered a spell of dizziness.
Glynwen Jones, 67, worked with children with learning disabilities after she went from being a medical secretary to a nurse.
“She loved working with the children in the community,” her husband Trefor, 66, reflected. On October 8, 2024, she died from a brain tumour after an 18-month battle.
Trefor, originally from Swansea, said: “Glioblastoma spreads so quickly even when you have a bit of it removed so it’s important they get the right medication and find a cure so other people don’t have to go through the trauma we went through.”
Trefor, who met his wife of 30 years at a mutual friend's party in Harrogate, explained it was Glynwen feeling dizzy which prompted her to visit the doctors.
He said: “We'd just gone to get an ice cream from Red Boat in Beaumaris and Glynwen stopped when she was about to get out of the car and said: ‘Oh I’m feeling quite dizzy! I went to get the ice cream but when I came back to the car I said: ‘You need to phone the doctors!
“She did and she got down to see them the next day and obviously it was a rollercoaster ride from there on in.”
