ALAN Sheehan insists Liam Cullen is 'a huge part' of his plans at Swansea City, despite the striker's struggles for game time this season.

After starting the first three games of the Championship campaign, the Wales international has been restricted to a string of appearances from the bench for City, amid increased competition for places.

Adam Idah has further strengthened a front line that’s been lit up by Slovenian Zan Vipotnik, while there has also been an increase in attacking midfield options on the back of a hugely productive transfer widow. Sign up to our Swansea City newsletter here.

Cullen offered up a timely reminder of his qualities in the win over Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday night, coming off the bench to net the winner in a 2-1 victory.

It was a cameo that might well have played him into contention for tomorrow’s clash with Leicester City at the Swansea.com Stadium, but Sheehan insists Cullen has always been firmly in his thinking.
