County's parking fine hotspots revealed

IF YOU'VE been slapped with a parking ticket in Carmarthenshire, whether on the street or in a car park, you've contributed to almost half a million pounds worth of fines collected by the local council.

According to data obtained by the Post, more than £450,000 was collected from more than 10,500 parking penalty charge notices issued within a 12-month period.

This information was released following a freedom of information request sent to Carmarthenshire Council and covers the period between August 2024 and August 2025.

In addition to the total number of penalty charge notices issued and the income generated from motorists paying them we can also disclose the various locations across the county where you are most likely to be hit with a fine.

They include John Street Car Park in Carmarthen, a side street in Llanelli, and a street near a primary school in Burry Port.

Of the top 10 most common places to be hit with a fine four are located in Carmarthen, four in Llanelli, one in Llandeilo and one in Burry Port.
