Bond and rivalry between Welsh contestants

WE WERE first introduced to the Welsh contestants in this year's series of The Traitors when they met in the carriage of the train to the castle.

Hugo Lodge, a barrister from Cardiff, joked that he felt that he had to prove he was Welsh to Fiona Hughes, from Swansea.

The pair formed a connection immediately as they bonded over their heritage. However, when interviewed by the Evening Post, Hugo joked that, much like football fans, he and Fiona had a rivalry based on their respective cities.

He said: "We sat on the same carriage at the same table on the train, so that was brilliant and obviously there's the lovely friendly Cardiff-Swansea rivalry.
