Accused denies sexual assault

November 20, 2025

A FORMER football club chairman and cabbie has denied sexually assaulting a woman at a wedding and exposing his penis to her.

- JASON EVANS Court and crime reporter

The wedding incident is one of a string of sexual allegations involving a number of different women faced by Nicky O'Connor, all of which he denies.

The 35-year-old is on trial at Swansea Crown Court.

The alleged offending is said to have happened between February 2023, and October 2024, during a period when O'Connor was chairman of Swansea's Plough Colts FC and drove a taxi for the city's Oyster Cabs company.

Giving evidence from the witness box for a second day, the defendant described how he and his partner attended a wedding.

He said that during the after-wedding celebrations he drank around seven pints of beer and just under half a bottle of neat gin, and he accepted being drunk.
