THE HONDA SUPERMINI IS NOW PACKING “MAGIC SEATS" THAT GIVE 1,205 LITRES OF EXTRA SPACE IN A VEHICLE FAMED FOR ITS LOW RUNNING COSTS AND DEPENDABILITY

THE Jazz has had a few updates and this new model looks fresh next to its European rivals. One of the most innovative car makers in the world, Honda lost its way in recent years, with vehicles that are safe and sensible but sometimes lack standout design, or technological features.

However, this the Japanese firm's supermini, still ticks all the boxes as a practical, well-packaged and efficient small car.

So is Honda still a strong contender in this sector of the market, or has it lost its mojo?

WHAT'S NEW?

At first glance, the Jazz looks almost identical to the current model, with only a set of new alloy wheels, redesigned front and rear bumpers and updated taillights.

Inside, there are even fewer changes, with some new seat upholsteries and a cleaner looking dashboard.

WHAT'S UNDER THE BONNET?

The 1.5-litre petrol engine is mated to an electric motor. This produces 105bhp and 253Nm of torque, taking 9.2 seconds to 60mph and with a top speed of 108mph.

Efficiency is where the Jazz stands out, with Honda claiming up to 61.4mpg - our test car achieved up to 60.1mpg during mixed driving and it only produces 104g/km of CO2.
