Biker dies in crash after taking part in 'amazing gesture' at teen's funeral

A BIKER has died in a crash while he was travelling back from being part of a motorcycle convoy at a boy's funeral in Pontypridd.

Chris Bailey, who was a dad to a baby boy, died on Friday afternoon at the A438 between Glasbury and Clyro near his home in Hay-on-Wye.

Mr Bailey, a keen biker, had accompanied his friends at the Valley Commandos Powys chapter in riding in convoy to pay tribute to 14-year-old Kyle Sieniawski at the boy's funeral.

As previously reported in the Echo, Kyle was one of the youngest people in the UK ever to be diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND).

Kyle's family, in a tribute via their Facebook page Kyle's MND Story, said they were “absolutely devastated” to hear of Mr Bailey’s passing after he'd travelled to be part of such a kind gesture.

They said: “We're absolutely devastated to hear that one of the bikers tragically lost his life whilst travelling home from Kyle's funeral.
