BENNETT CHENENE - UNATTACHED

I played with was the late John “Shoes” Moshoeu at AmaZulu.

What was interesting about him was that he would wake up early in the morning, around 5am, and have breakfast. At that time, we would be sleeping. When the bus came to pick us up for training, that’s when we rushed to have breakfast because there was not enough time. We would end up having things like bread and butter, ha, ha, ha.

Then Shoes would say, “When we get to training, I am going to dribble you guys. You don't eat properly.” He was not lying. Whenever we got to training, he was ready because he had woken up early and had eaten a proper breakfast. He would laugh and say, “I told you so,” ha, ha, ha.

Shoes was a true professional.
