I will never forget that day

It is in the history books that Thandani Ntshumayelo's career came to an abrupt halt after his drug-influenced ban from professional football.

Affectionately known as Bibo in the football fraternity, Ntshumayelo failed a drug test after his last match for Orlando Pirates and that was the turning point in his then thriving career. Four years in the football wilderness took its toll on the Heilbron-born midfielder as, after finishing his sentence, reviving his career proved a mountain to climb. He found a new home at Baroka FC before moving to Moroka Swallows but both stints were short-lived and proved the negative impact his absence from competitive football had on him. Last week, in Part One of his interview with Soccer Laduma's Thomas Kwenaite, Bibo opened up about his bad decision to do drugs and the consequences he had to suffer. This week, the former defensive midfielder reveals how he was caught and the conversation he had with Bucs chairman, Dr Irvin Khoza, after his results were confirmed.

Thomas Kwenaite: Bibo, once again, thanks a lot for taking the time to talk to our readers, we really appreciate it. What led you into that dark world of drugs in the first place?

Thandani Ntshumayelo: Thanks a lot. If you are a footballer, you need to hang out with footballers. If you are a deejay, actor, or musician, stick with those in your field because with this thing of mixing, you end up in the wrong place at the wrong time, and there might never be a comeback. I'm not an expert, but there are some, not all, musicians or deejays who use drugs because it helps them to work through awkward hours. As a footballer, you can't. I hung around with people who were not footballers and look where I ended up. I had the choice to say no, because the people I hung around with were exposed to nightlife, always out; they partied until the next morning; it's part of their jobs. I made bad choices.

TK: Do you still remember how you were busted by officials from the World Anti-Doping Agency?
