Hero medic who helped saved Dan

Dan was saved by a former army medic in the next carriage.

Despite his own head injuries and a dislocated shoulder, South African Adrian Heili, who served in the Austrian army, risked his life by crawling over the tracks.

He lifted a metal door off Dan, used his shirt as tourniquets, and pinched Dan's leg to stop him bleeding to death.

"I told him, 'I haven't lost anyone yet, and I won't start now'," Adrian, now 44, of West London, recalls.
