Eddie Howe says Newcastle United are 'in a good place' - but has warned his players the 'big tests' are still to come.
The Magpies progressed to the Carabao Cup quarterfinals with Wednesday's 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at St James' Park. They will host Fulham in the last eight on December 17.
Though 12th in the Premier League, they have lost just once in their last six games in all competitions.
And following victory over Spurs, Howe said: “Really pleasing.
“It's a testament to the squad and the attitude of the players. Everyone played with the right spirit, determination, and will to win.
“We didn’t have it all our own way — it was a hard-fought win — but mainly very positive. Really pleased for the squad.
“We enjoy the competition. We take it seriously. We want to do well.
