A seasonal fuddle is ideal for making new friends

But first, I should explain to those do don’t know exactly what a fuddle is.From where I am from, the word is used quite commonly, but inevitably there is always someone who asks the question: “what is a fuddle?”.

I checked it out online and the first thing that came up was ‘to confuse or stupefy someone with alcohol’! Digging deeper, I found the correct meaning, certainly as far as I am concerned. In Yorkshire, it means a communal gathering or celebration.

I use the word fuddle around this time of year when there are informal parties, often in the workplace where everyone attending brings a plate of something to share.
