KENT Women were beaten by seven wickets by Sussex Sharks in the War of the Wealds T20 at The 1st Central County Ground in Hove on Monday - Kent Women's third Women's Vitality Blast League Two match of the summer.

Kent only made 95-9 in their 20 overs and failed to defend the low total inside 11 overs.

Coco Streets made 23 from 23 and Megan Belt took 2-22, but an imperious half century from Sussex's Rachel King and 3-12 form Jasmine Westley saw the Sharks romp to victory at their home ground.

Amy Gordon and Grace Poole opened the batting for the Horses after winning the toss, but the latter departed in the first over for four.

The dangerous Gordon then departed nine in the fourth over which saw Elsa Barnfather join Tilly Callaghan at the crease.

Boundaries were hard to come by as Callaghan only found the rope once on her way to 21 and Barnfather also only making one four.
