Works of art fit for a superyacht

YACHT, even a 3,000 ton superyacht, is hardly a great place for rare and fragile works of art.

Even the sun-drenched Mediterranean can be a bit rough at certain times of the year. So how does a billionaire decorate his £65m floating pleasure palace?

In the case of the astonishing six-decked Sarafsa (cinema, swimming pool, “winter garden” dining area, piano bar, helipad, vehicle garage, etc) the answer was as simple as walking down the gangplank and doing a bit of local shopping.

The luxury yacht was quite capable of sailing round the world but its natural environment was the Med, Monaco, Nice, Saint-Tropez and the rest.

That coastline is awash with the galleries, studios and workshops of some of the world’s most talented contemporary artists and sculptors.
