THREE DOGS SEIZED AFTER ALLEGED INCIDENT

- By IVAN MORRIS POXTON

Police investigation under way following reports of dog attack

HUMBERSIDE Police have confirmed they have seized three dogs in the wake of an alleged dog attack last month in the Scunthorpe area.

A dog-on-dog attack reportedly occurred near Morrisons, at Ashby Lakeside, last month, that led to another dog suffering what are believed to be serious injuries.

Ward councillors Max Bell and Judith Matthews (Labour) sent out a letter to residents on May 12, in response to mounting concern.

Humberside Police have now confirmed they have seized three dogs from an owner, including the one suspected to be involved in the reported April incident.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “Investigations are under way after we received a report that a dog and its owners sustained injuries during an encounter with what is believed to be a Staffordshire cross at around 2pm outside a shop on Lakeside in Ashby on Thursday, April 10.”
