MSPs furious after bosses let Smyth back into Holyrood

DENIED: Colin Smyth, inset - already suspended from Scottish Labour - had his parliamentary pass revoked on Thursday
A NUMBER of MSPs have reacted angrily to the allegations that an ex-Scottish Labour politician hid a secret camera in toilets at Holyrood.
Colin Smyth has now “strongly refuted” the claims and revealed he has gone into hiding with his family to avoid any repercussions.
Smyth was charged on August 5 over the possession of indecent images before the bombshell bathroom claims emerged on Thursday evening.
Our sister paper, the Daily Record, broke the story and now reports at least one MSP has been interviewed by police officers as a potential victim over footage showing a man urinating in a bathroom.
Breaking his silence, the 52-year-old married father released a statement on Friday criticising Police Scotland for revealing the street he lives on in Dumfries with his family.
He said: “This allegation came as an utter shock and one I strongly refute. For legal reasons, I can’t respond to specific matters or speculation.
“There is a process to go through which I am, of course, fully cooperating with. But I hope it can be concluded quickly and fairly.
