Greek tragedy for Scots, but winner-takes-all Hampden showdown miraculously still ON as Belarus hold Denmark to draw

SCOTLAND'S winner-takes-all World Cup decider against Denmark is on after an incredible night of drama in Piraeus.

Steve Clarke's men fluffed their lines with a horror start in Greece - only to battle back and almost seal a precious point with goals from Ben Gannon-Doak and Ryan Christie.

But Belarus' shock 2-2 draw with Denmark in Copenhagen means Scotland can still seal an automatic spot at next summer's finals in Canada, Mexico and the US with victory over the Danes at Hampden on Tuesday. It was a nerve-shredding night but Clarke's men know a win in their final qualifier is enough for the country to make it to the World Cup for the first time in almost 30 years.

Christie said: "I'm disappointed to lose the game.
