Criminals 'allowed to get away' with owing £5m

CRIMINALS ordered to repay the profits of their offending still owe authorities more than £5million.
Data from the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service (SCTS), obtained by the Scottish Tories under a freedom of information request, shows 89 confiscation orders in arrears worth £5,065,459.
Confiscation orders require a criminal to pay back a sum representing the financial benefit to them from illegal activities under proceeds of crime legislation.
