Booming British Land is hot property in capital

BRITISH Land had a good first half, with constructive progress on lettings and a strong outlook for next year.

It's a major UK real estate company with £9.8billion of high-quality commercial property in its portfolio.

Operations focus on London office campuses, retail parks and urban logistics warehouses.

Net rental income increased by 9.2% to £238million over the first half, helped by net rental growth and recent acquisitions. Alongside a tight grip on costs, this helped underlying operating profits rise by 8.4% to £155m over the period.

London campuses remain a priority.

Leasing activity is being driven by strong demand for highquality, well-connected office spaces.

British Land already operates some prime real estate in the City.

Here, demand for new space is improving, with office usage back to pre-Covid levels.
