CELTIC boss Elena Sadiku reckons a lack of investment is to blame for her side’s problems in title-defining games.

- BY ALISON McCONNELL

The Hoops lost 2-1 to a Glasgow City side who went into the match on the back of an exacting midweek European clash.

The Petershill side established a 2-0 lead after a goal in each half from Sofia Maatta and Lisa Evans before Saoirse Noonan pulled one back for Celtic with just under 10 minutes to go.

Maria McAneny could have levelled in added time as she sclaffed an effort wide but it would not have been reflective of a game City ought to have won by a wider margin.

And Sadiku reckons Celtic are paying the price for not increasing the quality and depth of the Parkhead squad.

“I do not know if there is a mental block; said Sadiku about the failure to win in massive games.

“I feel right now that we are in a situation where teams are investing strongly and you can see how tight it is every season.
