VICKO Sevelj couldn’t escape Dundee United fans when he headed home to Dubrovnik this summer.

- By Neil Robertson

The 24-year-old Croatian kept bumping into tipsy Terrors supporters on stag dos - to the amazement of his girlfriend and pals.

Now, Sevelj hopes he can help United and their fans take the first step on the way to more continental adventures by beating Luxembourg outfit UNA Strassen in tonight’s Conference League qualifier.

When Sevelj joined United last summer, his friends and family already knew all about the club from their runs to the European Cup semifinal in 1984 and UEFA Cup final three years later.

And the 24-year-old Croat is determined that the current crop of players will make some history of their own.

Sevelj, who was United’s player of the year last season, said: “When I said to my dad or my friends that I was signing for Dundee United they were all amazed.
