UK's oldest identical brothers inseparable during their 82 years

BROTHERLY bonds don’t come stronger than the one between the UK’s oldest identical twins.

Amazing 82-year-olds Bill and John Bowdler are inseparable.

The lifelong bachelors not only wear matching clothes and live with each other, they also go on holiday together. They credit their closeness for their thriving health.

John said: “We're 82 but we feel 70. There’s people on our estate, our former school mates, and they’re hobbling around or in wheelchairs.

“We're definitely one of the oldest sets of identical twins in the world. We have each other so we can keep each other fit.

“We just keep active. It keeps us ticking and alive.”

The Birmingham lads, who were born on March 21, 1944, could not even be separated by work. They left school in 1960 and joined the same wholesale distribution business in Birmingham.

When that went bust they changed careers together and retrained as postmen.
